What’s New at Normandie Ridge
Dr. Neal Ranen Presents Mental Health Information to Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community

On Tuesday, October 10, a well known York psychiatrist, Dr. Neal Ranen, spoke to the Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community on issues relating to mental heath. There was a reception that began at 11:30 a.m. in the Manchester Commons Lobby; refreshments were provided by Eisai, Inc. The seminar began at noon and was held in the Manchester Commons Community Room.
Approximately forty people from all areas of the Normandie Ridge campus were in attendance of what proved to be a very informative and beneficial presentation. Dr. Ranen tends to speak of dementia, neurological disorders, and Alzheimer’s Disease when he talks to groups of people, but he touched on drug related therapies and the numerous causes of memory and functional loss as well that day.
Dr. Ranen received wonderful feedback from the members of the audience as a result of furnishing the information in a way that was understandable to everyone in attendance.
“The information was very helpful in helping me understand what is going on with my husband,” one woman commented.
Dr. Neal Ranen exhibits a long list of accomplishments, including: Diplomat, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; Specialty Board, Certified General and Geriatric Psychiatry; Residency, Fellowship, and former faculty, The Johns Hopkins Hospital and The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; Former Director of Neuropsychiatry, Thomas Jefferson University; member of the World Federation of Neurology; functions on the Geriatric
Psychiatry Committee of the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society and on the Attorney General’s Task Force for the Protection of Older Pennsylvanians; and a General and Geriatric Psychiatry Private Practice.
