Quilt to be Auctioned Off at Normandie Ridge Anniversary Celebration

Normandie Ridge Quilters

October 5, 2006

Nine Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community residents made a quilt that will be awarded to the winner of a silent auction at Normandie Ridge’s Anniversary Celebration on October 14.  The Celebration will take place from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the lobby of Manchester Commons with free admission to the public.

The group of ladies call themselves “The Quilting Club,” and they meet every Thursday for two hours.  Bea Crall taught the women how to properly construct a quilt.  It took them seven months to complete this quilt, which is in the pattern of “Grandmother’s Flower Garden” and sized at 93” x 78.”

The quilt is displayed on the far wall of the main entrance of the building with a bid sheet posted next to it.  Community members are welcome to visit Normandie Ridge to view and bid on the quilt up until October 14.  The winner will be determined the day of the Celebration.  The proceeds will benefit the Normandie Ridge Auxiliary, which provides services and equipment not covered by the facility budget.

Any questions regarding the quilt may be directed to Ronnie Ehrhart at (717) 718-1023.  For general questions or directions to Normandie Ridge, please call (717) 764-6262.
