Normandie Ridge Celebrates 15th Anniversary

Normandie Ridge residents work at one of the many craft tables set up at last year's Anniversary Celebration.

August 27 , 2007

Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community will be celebrating their 15th anniversary with an indoor celebration from 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 13 on the facility’s campus, located at 1700 Normandie Drive in York.  All are invited to attend free of charge for fun, food, and fellowship!

The annual Anniversary Celebration will feature an entertainment schedule consisting of the Normandie Ridge Chorus at 10:45 a.m.; the Country Crossroads Gospel Singers at 11:30 a.m.; the Normandie Ridge Line Dancers at 12:15 p.m.; and Magical Ministries with Bob Bracilano at 1 p.m.  Other highlights of the event include face painting and make ‘n’ take crafts for children, handmade crafts available for purchase, a silent auction, a bake sale, health screenings, and lots of food such as fresh apple dumplings, homemade chicken corn soup, grilled hot dogs, pretzel sandwiches, BBQ, soft pretzels, and baked goods.

“Our team of volunteers and staff works hard to make the Anniversary Celebration a success each year, and we hope this year will be the best yet,” commented Flo Waybright, Chair, Anniversary Celebration Committee.  “Maybe we’ll even attract more than our usual 200 participants this time around!”

In an effort to increase the community’s involvement with the campus, local businesses were contacted to advertise in the program booklet that will be distributed to everyone that attends the Anniversary Celebration.  The funds that are raised through the sale of ads, food, crafts, etc. will benefit the Normandie Ridge Auxiliary, which has contributed over $40,000 to date for purchases not normally covered by the facility’s budget including wheelchairs, specialized medical equipment, and therapeutic recreational supplies.  The current project undertaken by the Auxiliary is the purchase of an additional wheelchair accessible van for the residents.  For more information on this upcoming event, please contact Flo Waybright at (717) 225-5933.

Normandie Ridge is a continuing care retirement community comprised of independent living apartments and cottages, assisted living, skilled nursing care, and short-term rehabilitation.  The campus features an array of amenities including a café and general store, restaurant, multi-purpose room, indoor heated pool and spa, fitness center, branch bank, creative arts room, woodshop, chapel, and a beauty/barber shop.  For more information about Normandie Ridge or to schedule a tour of the facility, please contact the Director of Marketing at (717) 718-0937.
