Short-Term Rehabilitation UnitThe Short-Term Rehabilitation Unit at RiverWoods specializes in treating the unique needs of people who are in transition between the hospital and home. The Unit offers a home-like setting where guests can recuperate with unlimited visiting hours. Examples of individuals who benefit from this program are those who have sustained lifestyle alterations, such as strokes, neurological disorders, amputations, joint replacements and fractures. Also treated are those who have experienced exacerbations of a chronic illness, such as respiratory disorders or arthritis, and those who become debilitated due to a long hospitalization. The short-term rehabilitation program uses a comprehensive, interdisciplinary team approach that places the patient and his or her family at the center of the treatment plan. The goal is to return patients to their homes where they can function as independently as possible. The typical length of stay is less than 30 days from the time of admission. Therapies Available
