RiverWoods Senior Living Community Begins to Plan for Annual Car Show

March 14, 2008
RiverWoods Senior Living Community is in the planning stages for their 17th Annual Car Show, one of the largest of its kind in Susquehanna Valley. This year, it will take place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 on the RiverWoods campus at 3201 River Road, Lewisburg.
Last year, 251 cars were on display, including antiques, Pontiacs, Corvettes, Mustangs, trucks, and motorcycles. Nearly 800 visitors attended the Show in 2007, raising approximately $7000 that was used towards the restoration of a courtyard on the RiverWoods campus that will be available for residents and visitors to enjoy.
The Car Show features 23 classes of cars, trucks, and motorcycles; a trophy is awarded for first, second, and third place in each class. Trophies are also awarded for categories such as “People’s Choice” and “Resident’s Choice.” The cost of sponsoring a class is $150. Cars can be pre-registered for $10 or $12 on the day of the event.
