Lewisburg Resident Yearly Volunteer at RiverWoods Grande Illumination

A faithful and trustworthy Lewisburg resident, Ellis Lohr, has been volunteering his time in preparing for the RiverWoods Senior Living Community Grande Illumination for about five years now.

He initially became affiliated with RiverWoods through his neighbor, who was in contact with someone about helping out with this event; Ellis of course told him he could be of assistance as well.

Every year, Ellis offers the use of his truck in distributing the luminaries to the designated areas around the campus and aides in the lighting and cleaning up of the candles.  His wife sometimes helps out as well.  The RiverWoods residents and his love of lighting the luminaries keep him coming back from year to year.

“They have some really nice people living there,” said Ellis of the residents.

Ellis is currently a laborer for Con Agra and resides in Lewisburg with his wife.

This year’s event will take place on December 14, 15, and 16.  The RiverWoods campus is brightly lit with luminaries on each of those three nights, and the community is invited to drive through the campus from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. to view the beautiful display.  A reception will be held on December 15 from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in Marlow Hall, which is located in the RiverWoods Nursing Care Center.  Donors and honorees are invited to attend.  To sponsor a candle in honor or in memory of a loved one, or for additional information on the Grande Illumination, please call the Fund Development Office at (570) 524-9930 or send an email to funddevelopment@albrightcare.org by December 8.
