Fisher's Meats Provides One Stop Shopping

December 22, 2006
Fisher’s Meat Market of Lewisburg recently began a delivery service to the residents and employees of RiverWoods Senior Living Community. Residents and employees can use an order form to select a variety of meats, cheese, and oven-ready foods that they offer, whether cooking for one or many. Orders are placed on Tuesday and delivered to their door every Thursday. This service proved to be very successful with more than 10 residents taking advantage the first day. Phyllis Close, resident of a Garden Cottage says ‘Fisher’s meats are very good and the fact that they deliver to me is fabulous.’
Wes Leidig, Executive Director of RiverWoods sees this as a great opportunity for our residents and employees, especially during the winter months. “This is just one of the many ways that RiverWoods is trying to improve the quality of life for all its residents,” Leidig said. “Now they will have more opportunity to participate in fun and educational events instead of shopping for food.”
Owners Peg & Butch Fisher were pleased to be able to offer this service for the residents as “a way to give back to the community.” “Many of the residents have been loyal customers by coming to our business for many years—this is a way we can show them our appreciation for their loyalty,” they stated.
RiverWoods Senior Living Community offers a full continuum of care including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing care and short term rehabilitation. The facility is owned and operated by Albright Care Services which also owns and operates Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community in York, Slifer House Museum in Lewisburg and manages Warrior Run Manor, a HUD-approved housing complex in Watsontown.
