Tailgate Party Planned for RiverWoods Employees

November 3, 2006
A Tailgate Party was held on Friday, October 27 for all sports-minded RiverWoods employees in Marlow Hall.
The party was held during the hours of 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.; 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.; and at 1 a.m. so employees of all shifts could join in on the fun. It was a casual day where many of the staff dressed in their favorite sports attire and watched ESPN on TV. A wide variety of food and refreshments were provided to the sports enthusiasts, including hot sausage sandwiches, hot dogs and hamburgers with condiments, macaroni, potato and pasta salad, pizza, brownies, nachos and salsa, apple dumplings, and chips. Marlow Hall and the cafeteria was decorated with Nascar and football decorations, including a blowup Nittany Lion, that were contributed by the employees. Some of the staff brought in their tents so it would look like they were actually tailgating.
The event was planned by Almeda Brantlinger, Dietary Administrative Assistant; Kathy Whitenight, Dietary Manager; and Jackie Sampsell, Information Office Manager. They hope to plan a party like this annually for the staff.
“The party was Almeda’s idea,” Jackie said. “She wanted to plan something fun for the many sports fans at RiverWoods.”
