RiverWoods Recognizes Campus Volunteers

Rev. Charles Leitzel, Brenda Keister, Gladys Eichelberger, Veda King, and Barbara Haupt.

June 28 , 2007

A luncheon was held at noon on Saturday, April 14 in Marlow Hall, located within the Nursing Care Center on the campus of RiverWoods Senior Living Community, to honor those residents who volunteered the most hours on campus in 2006.  Residents can volunteer their time in various ways, but the most popular are working at the gift shop, in RidgeCrest, visiting other residents, and assisting with activities.  Approximately 60 volunteers attended the annual volunteer luncheon.  RiverWoods also holds an annual luncheon for their junior volunteers, ages 12-18.

Five residents received Certificates of Appreciation for volunteering over 200 hours in 2006.  They were:  Rev. Charles Leitzel (818 hours), Brenda Keister (516 hours), Gladys Eichelberger (269 hours), Veda King (211 hours), and Barbara Haupt (235 hours).  Everyone in attendance was served chicken parmesan sandwiches, pasta salad, and strawberry cream pie.  They were also given a RiverWoods mug and thank you card for their service.  Door prizes of flowers and gift cards were awarded, and Merle Nichols played the organ.
