Go Red for Women Day to be Held at RiverWoods Senior Living Community

Go Red for Women Day 2006

January 29, 2007

The Second Annual Go Red for Women Day will take place at RiverWoods Senior Living Community from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. on Friday, February 2 in front of Marlow Hall, which is located within the Nursing Care Center.  Refreshments and nutritional literature for a heart healthy diet will be provided by the Nutrition and Dining Services department.  Residents, staff, and the public are invited to attend.

The purpose of Go Red Day is to increase awareness of heart disease and stroke, while taking donations to support ongoing research conducted by the American Heart Association.  An information board regarding heart disease and stroke in addition to an information board displaying the fat content of popular fast foods and smarter food choices at those restaurants will be displayed.

Door prizes will be offered, and employees can make their donations to the Heart Association in the RiverWoods cafeteria starting Tuesday, January 30.  Hearts will hang in the cafeteria exhibiting those people who have made a contribution.  Staff members who contribute on Friday will receive a red dress sticker for their name badges.  Donations must be made by 4 p.m. on Friday, February 2.  Support the cause by wearing red to work on February 2!
