RiverWoods Senior Living Community to Hold Annual Car Show

May 9 , 2007
RiverWoods Senior Living Community will be holding their 16th Annual Car Show on Saturday, May 19, one of the largest of its kind in Susquehanna Valley. This year, it will take place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the RiverWoods campus at 3201 River Road, Lewisburg.
Last year, over 220 cars were on display, including antiques, Pontiacs, Corvettes, Mustangs, trucks, and motorcycles. Nearly 700 visitors attended the Show in 2006, raising approximately $6000 that was used to purchase a home theatre system installed in Marlow Hall (located within the Nursing Care Center) last year. The system includes surround sound with a multi-disc DVD/CD player, AM/FM receiver, and cable television; VHS tapes can be viewed as well.
The Car Show normally features about 24 classes of cars, trucks, and motorcycles; a trophy is awarded for first, second, and third place in each class. Trophies are also awarded for categories such as “People’s Choice” and “Resident’s Choice.” The cost of sponsoring a class is $150. Cars can be pre-registered for $10 or $12 on the day of the event.
