Ashley Geiser Begins New Role as RiverWoods Community Wellness Director
March 18, 2008

RiverWoods Senior Living Community is constantly striving to enhance the lives of the residents who live in their community. As a result, they created the position of Wellness Director that Ashley Geiser began occupying in February.
The Montoursville native is a recent graduate of Bloomsburg University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science. Prior to joining the RiverWoods family, Ashley worked at the Bloomsburg YMCA and Ashler Manor.
Ashley will be developing a wellness program based on the Six Dimensions of Wellness: Spiritual, Physical, Emotional, Social, Intellectual and Vocational. When asked why it was important to base such a program on these dimensions, Ashley responded, “By using a holistic approach in dealing with seniors, it motivates the individual and keeps them challenged, not only physically, but mentally as well. I want to create a wellness program that will enhance their mental and physical well-being which, in the long run, will promote a longer, healthier lifestyle.”
Ashley is excited about this opportunity and brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm with her. In the short time she has been at RiverWoods, Ashley has been meeting and assessing the residents of the community, as well as trying to determine their interests in order to build a program based on their wants and needs.
