Slifer House Museum Announces its Summer Concert Series Schedule
April 26 , 2007
The Slifer House Museum, Lewisburg, has recently announced its Summer Concert Series schedule. Weather-permitting, the concerts are held on the front lawn of the museum. They are free and open to the public, although a freewill offering is taken. As is the time-honored tradition, an old-fashioned ice cream social follows each concert. In the event of rain, Marlow Hall, located within the Nursing Care Center on the RiverWoods campus, is the rain location.
The schedule is as follows: Sunday, 13 May (Mother’s Day) at 3 p.m., the students of Ruth Blankenship will perform the music of Irving Berlin; Thursday, 14 June at 7 p.m., K.J. Reimensnyder-Wagner, the concert will be in memory of the Reverend Dick Bender; Thursday, 28 June at 7 p.m., dulcimer music of Lucy and Bruce Henry; Thursday, 12 July at 6:30 p.m., the Repasz Band; Thursday, 26 July at 6:30 p.m., the Dansbachers; Thursday, 9 August at 7 p.m., the Front Porch Country Band; and Thursday, 23 August at 6:30 p.m., the Nittany Mountain [Bag] pipe Band.
The concert series is supported by Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA), the regional arts funding partnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency. State government funding comes through an annual appropriation by Pennsylvania’s General Assembly and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. PPA is administered in this region by Community Partnerships Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Council.
