Slifer House Museum to Host the Nittany Mountain [Bag] Pipe Band

The Slifer House Museum, 80 Magnolia Drive Lewisburg, continues its outdoor concert series on Thursday, August 14 at 7 p.m. with an appearance by an audience favorite, the Nittany Mountain [Bag] Pipe Band. Weather-permitting, the concert will be held on the front lawn of the museum. The concert is free and open to the public, although a freewill offering is taken. An old-fashioned ice cream social follows the concert. In the event of rain, Marlow Hall, located within the Nursing Care Center on the campus of RiverWoods Senior Living Community (3201 River Road, Lewisburg), will serve as the rain location.

As is the time-honored tradition, an ice cream social follows, sponsored by Mifflinburg Bank and Trust Company, Lewisburg branch. Bank representatives will serve as ice cream dippers for the evening.

Thursday, August 28 at 7 p.m., the Buffalo Valley Brass.

The concert series is supported by Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA), the regional arts funding partnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency. State government funding comes through an annual appropriation by Pennsylvania’s General Assembly and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. PPA is administered in this region by Community Partnerships Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Council.
