Slifer House Museum to Present 'Spooky Tales'

Bone-chilling shrieks have been heard throughout the Slifer Mansion…  The Victorian Literature Reading Club of the Slifer House Museum will be presenting its second annual ‘Spooky Tales’ in celebration of Halloween, Monday, October 29 at 7:30 p.m. The event is open to the public, however, tickets are $6 per person. Children under twelve will be admitted free of charge.

Readings will include selections from Frankenstein by Mary Shelley; Dracula by Bram Stoker; The Telltale Heart, The Cask of Amontillado, and The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe; and poetry by Thomas Hardy, Emily Dickinson, and Thomas Hood. The readings will be staged throughout the house, including a trip to the basement! Refreshments will be served after the readings.

Members of the club include Bob and Elaine Walz, Karen Roessler, Carole Friery, Pat Dye, Joyce Pangburn, Joyce Wilson, Gayle Pepper, Steve and Chris Pangburn-Naugle.
